New Releases: KindLink

Corporate and employee fundraising if one of the main ways businesses engage with local causes and their teams. It is the easiest way to gather your teams, do something fun and use the power of your friends, family, and colleagues to do something good. From running marathons to rowing and cycling challenges, it is an amazingly efficient way to collect donations and build the team spirit.

Based on the 2008/09 baselines, the UK aims to do the following by 2020/2021: reduce absolute carbon emissions by 34%, reduce water consumption by 50%, reduce the weight of waste generated by 30%, recycle 75% of waste generated by weight. Companies are now working on their sustainability initiatives in different fields, from suppliers to the way the workplace is organised.

Some 20 million people volunteered in the UK in 2017/2018, according to our partner, the NCVO, with almost four in ten people doing so formally. That means that companies place more importance than ever on engaging with their employees through sourcing opportunities for them to volunteer. Employees, equally, have never been more interested in giving back to their communities.

In the aftermath of the Nepal earthquake in 2015, a group of friends from the technology and non-profit sectors started thinking about how to make sure donors could help rebuild the country through donations and be sure their contribution went to the people in need. We reflected upon and refined our ideas until we created KindLink – a platform that shows donors the impact of their donations through detailed campaign reports and social-media-like coverage and allows charities to showcase their good work more transparently.

KindLink is excited to announce that we now support over 1,000 charities and nonprofit organizations with our free software, fundraising and impact reporting platform. We are grateful to be able to help these charitable organizations make the world a kinder place within the United Kingdom and internationally. KindLink was founded with the intention of bringing transparency and efficiency to the charity sector, and we will continue to connect businesses and charities through their kind work.

KindLink is excited to announce a partnership with One Unite to power their new Give While You Save scheme. The GWYS scheme benefits businesses or homeowners saving money while raising funds for their chosen charity by switching their energy providers.

We recently published a post about compliance when accepting online donations for charities, and although online donations are the way forward in terms of donor preferences and fund security most non-profit organisations still accept other types of donations - such as bank transfers, cheques, cash, etc. - so it is time to discuss how charities would like to or should manage their donation records.
