Story of The Prout Bridge Project

Our vision is that the Prout Bridge Centre building becomes a thriving and welcoming place for the whole community to share and enjoy, where people can come to chat, make friends, participate and get help and advice. The Prout Bridge Project will offer high quality, affordable clubs, activities, services and facilities that support people of all ages and backgrounds in our town and nearby. Some of these will be provided by our charity and some will be provided by others, hosted in the Prout Bridge Centre by us. Your donation will support: -Activities and services for people of all ages at the Prout Bridge Centre -Targeted mental health support -Beaminster Youth Clubs and Youth Band THANK YOU so much for your support. £20 helps to cover the cost of using the building to run a youth club night or an evening class for adults. £50 means we can offer one-to-one trained youth worker support to a young person struggling with issues affecting their mental health and self-esteem. £100 means we can run a fun and inspiring holiday activity day for all ages

The Prout Bridge Project / Beaminster Youth Club

The Prout Bridge Project has grown out of Beaminster Youth Club. The charity was set up in 2016 to take over running youth clubs in Beaminster from Dorset County Council. Since then we have been running regular, well-attended youth clubs and holiday activities for young people. In our work with the local community we have seen the opportunity to offer more activities, facilities and services for people of all ages living in the town and the surrounding area. We have therefore expanded our work so that we can provide opportunities for people of all ages in West Dorset to come together socially, participate in their community, make friends and support each other. Our vision is that the Prout Bridge Centre building, where we are based, becomes a thriving and welcoming place for the whole community to share and enjoy, where people can come to chat, make friends, take part and get help and advice. The Prout Bridge Project aims to offer high quality, affordable clubs, activities, services and facilities that support people of all ages and backgrounds in our town and nearby. Some of these will be provided by our charity and some will be provided by others, hosted in the Prout Bridge Centre by us. Our specific objectives are: 1) Offer an inclusive, affordable and varied programme of activities, so that people of all ages in Beaminster and the surrounding area feel they have access to fulfilling things to do including arts, music, crafts, sport, dance, fitness, learning, culture and heritage. 2) Fight loneliness, social isolation and intergenerational divides by providing opportunities for people from all backgrounds and of all ages to come together socially, participate in their community, make friends and support each other. 3) Support people to feel mentally well, achieve healthy lifestyles, be independent, and develop skills that will help them thrive. 4) Develop a sustainable long- term project which supports the local community, responding to evolving needs and delivering activities, services and facilities that people want, by regularly consulting with the community and local organisations and service providers. 5) Operate as an “umbrella” charity nurturing and supporting other charitable and community organisations which share the same objectives.See other opportunities to help us here.
