Sarah's London Marathon 2023 for Starfish

Starfish Greathearts Foundation is an international development charity that provides lifesaving healthcare, education and child protection to children orphaned and made vulnerable by HIV/AIDS and poverty in South Africa. There remains 1.7 million children in South Africa who have lost their parents to HIV/AIDS and many find themselves in child-headed households. They become extremely vulnerable to abuse, malnutrition, and dropping out of education, often falling into crime and being exposed to HIV. Starfish works in partnership with grassroots community–based organisations in order to reach and provide support to the most vulnerable children. Starfish believes that to make a difference it is essential to help one child at a time, ensuring that support programmes are sustainable. All the work Starfish does is focused on achieving the highest impact at the lowest cost. Through grassroots partnerships, Starfish currently delivers healthcare, education and child protection programmes across South Africa. In 2021 Starfish provided holistic care to over 13,500 vulnerable children in South Africa.
