Urgent Brazil Floods Appeal

Brazil has been experiencing exceptional heavy rains that are causing major problems for communities, families and the work of My Father's House in Olinda. The rains have caused extreme flooding, displacing people from their homes and causing deaths throughout communities. To date in the greater Recife/Olinda area 189 people have lost their lives, due to the flooding and mudslides, and many homes have been destroyed. My Father's House have temporarily paused their usual programme of activities in order to be able to support those they are working with through this extreme weather. The team is working full out on the front line providing whatever support they are able to. Churches in the area have come together to share resources and support this work throughout the area. For those who have lost everything, My Father's House have been distributing clothes, cleaning, and hygiene materials, and most importantly an average of 300 cooked meals daily, to those who have lost the ability to cook for themselves. There is still a big need for mattresses for those whose homes have been flooded and furniture destroyed.
