The Story
RSVP mentors and trains groups of women involved in prostitution in dressmaking, through a local church on the ground in Rwanda.
This provides the women with an alternate way of earning money and to also avoid the dangers and abuses they risk as sex workers.
The course is carried out over 12 months and, on completing the course, each woman is given a sewing machine of their own to enable them to start a new business.
Each woman on the course costs RSVP Trust £72 for the year (or £6 per month).
Each sewing machine given at graduation costs RSVP Trust £95.
