The Story
Donations in memory of Shirley Grant
Shirley Grant (Mum) was a loving lady who enjoyed cuddles and laughs. Her love was reciprocated by everyone.
Shirley had 5 children, 20 Grandchildren, 32 Great Grandchildren and 1 Great Great Grandchild. She was born in Wales and was evacuated at the age of 7 from Wales to London (despite most Londoners being evacuated to Wales) and lived in Queens Park for 55 years.
Our amazing memories of Shirley are:
She loved a sing-along or dance with her friends and family, listening to music on her wireless. She always knew she was loved by all.
At the Memory Cafe Shirley enjoyed all the cakes that were put on the table, one or two may have ended up in her bag for later!
She alway kept her food stash including loads of Soothers that she shared out with her friends at the Cafe.
She enjoyed singing with her friends and sneaking out the back for a cheeky fag.
Having Alzheimer's meant Shirley's memory was not always there but that would not stop her kissing and cuddling everyone at the Cafe, even if she had never meet them before.
Sadly Pneumonia and Covid took her alway from us on 21st January 2021 and she has been missed ever since.
