The Story
We know that teachers can change lives. One good teacher can be a like a stone thrown into a pond, rippling out across families. Imagine if we could train a new generation of teachers with the skills and spirit of Kunyanja!
No way near enough children receive an adequate education in Malawi. Too fee even finish primary school, let alone secondary school. There are many reasons behind this but one of the main barriers is a shortage of trained teachers. The Kunyanja Trustees and Directors have long wanted to make a contribution to this challenge and bring their skills and experience to develop a new community accessible teacher training college - the first in their area. In 2020 they identified a plot of land which was secured with generous support from donors. we are now working on the first stage of creating the Kunyanja Teacher Training college with Masambiro UKs most ambitions fundraising project yet. We need to raise £100,000 to get this often the ground.
