The Story

Here's something to keep the summer vibe going - another fabulous evening of 70s and 80s grooves with Friday Night Fever!!! EVENT DETAILS: Date: Friday 19 September Time: 7pm-11pm Place: Linden House, Upper Mall, Hammersmith, W6 9TA (along the river) Cost: £10 for the disco This event is hosted by Zoë and Kate, who hosted the event last year and have hosted successful fundraising events in the past. The whole night is in aid of Lumi Foundation, an award-winning local charity with a mission to make yoga accessible to all. By offering yoga classes in the community, Lumi Foundation combats loneliness and isolation, and improves mental, physical and social well-being. The fabulous DJ, Matthew, will be again choosing the best of his amazing collection of vinyl to keep us dancing until late. Matthew's collection of discs covers an eclectic mix of music from all genres - the 60's to now but with a special focus of 70's and 80's music! He has DJ'd at the Ministry of Sound, Heaven, BAFTA and The Limelight, amongst many other famous places. The lovely team at Linden House is offering a delicious Thai Veg Curry, for an additional fee of £12.50. Details about the food will be emailed to you once you've booked your spot to the disco. And, there is a bar upstairs for refreshments or even just a breather! RAFFLE: Given the great success of our previous raffles, we are going to have another one! We have already got some lovely prizes lined up from generous donors including: * Supper at the Linden House Supper Club * Movie tickets from Riverside More will be coming and we'll update the site with new prizes as we get them. You can buy raffle tickets at the door on the night. BOOK YOUR SPOT! To reserve your spot at the disco, you must make a £10 donation by clicking the 'Donate now' button below. Once you've done that, your spot will be confirmed at the disco and we'll send a follow-up email, which will include information about ordering food at the event. Please note: If you are booking for yourself and a guest (or guests), the cost is £10 per person. When making your donation, be sure to click, 'Add message,' and let us know how many others might be joining you. (We have moved away from Eventbrite for this disco so that Lumi Foundation can claim Gift Aid for this fundraising event.)

Lumi Foundation

Lumi Foundation started in 2017 as an outreach programme to make yoga accessible to all. That year, we provided over 357 classes to more than 2,800 yogis across communities in the West London area. Since then, we’ve grown; we now offer over 35 classes per week in shared community spaces across London, including classes delivered through partner charities and organisations we’ve teamed up with. The belief that yoga is for everyone – regardless of age, race, body type, gender or means – is at the core of our ethos. Since 2017, we’ve worked with a diverse array of groups to bring yoga to a wider audience. Adults and children with disabilities, including visually impaired people; elderly groups; asylum seekers and refugees; those in recovery from addiction; survivors of domestic abuse; individuals undergoing cancer treatment; and low-income communities represent just a few of the groups we’ve supported and continue to support over the years. We couldn't do what we do without your generous support.
