A Tribute Fund In Memory Of Ron Oiller

Ronald was born on the 19th of March 1951. He was raised in Dungeness in South East Kent and at the age of 16 left to join the Army serving in the Royal Corps of Transport from 1967 to 1972 of which he left to look after his first-born child.  Since then Ron worked in several different jobs including many years working as a bus driver for Stagecoach. Then before he became ill worked at Days Aggregates for 13 years.  Ron was married to his wife Simone for 21 years from 1999 who he had 2 children with as well as taking on 2 of her own. Before this Ron had 3 other children. He also was a loving grandfather to 12 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren of which he had the pleasure of meeting them all.  From a young age, he enjoyed his music, where he had played in multiple bands. He taught himself to play the trumpet of which he played for The Royal British Legion in Sussex.  Ron was a member of the Royal Antediluvian Order of Buffaloes “Buffs” for many years, he also was a volunteer at the local New Romney Sea Cadets for 6 years which he thoroughly enjoyed. Ron became ill in October 2018 and after further hospital appointments, he was diagnosed with mesothelioma in December 2018. During his time with the illness, he created a bucket list for after the new year starting with, weekends away across the country. A short holiday in Paris where they made the long climb up the Eiffel Tower, renewing his and Simone’s wedding vows in April 2019 with a long 20-year wait for a honeymoon, where they went on a river cruise on the river Danube going through many different countries. They had further trips across the country including Newcastle, Liverpool over 3 days. He also had a flying lesson in a glider plane. Then in early 2020 he and his wife went on a trip to The Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan to visit their eldest son.  He sadly passed away on the 8th of May 2020.
