Yuvraj's World Scout Jamboree Fundraiser

PLEASE SHARE THIS PAGE I’m Yuvraj and over the next 14 months I am raising funds for the 26th World Scout Jamboree in 2027 - WSJ26. Done: -Bag Packing at Waitrose 23/12/2025 – 5 Scouts - raised £239.82 Planned: - sponsored walking FIVE MILLION steps in 2026 - Cycling the length of the country in the summer!! - Gigs/concerts/busking with our Scout Band across London!! The WSJ is the largest Scouting event IN THE WORLD and has happened nearly every four years for over a hundred years. In 2027 it will be hosted by the Polish Scouting and Guiding Association (ZHP) on an island in Gdańsk – tens of thousands of young people (and their leaders) will be brought together in the spirit of Bravely – overcoming obstacles and moving forward. 36,000 young people from around the world will learn about each other and their cultures, make new connections and lifelong friends, and find out how they can make our world a better place, all in a wonderfully organised mess of culture, language, colour, excitement, and LOTS of swapping of uniform – you won’t be able to tell whether a Scout is from Mexico or the Philippines by the end of this incredible event. You might wonder why this is so high. This is due to the Solidarity Fund, which ensures that ALL the member nations of the World Order of the Scouting Movement (WOSM) can be represented. To do this, countries can take a maximum of 10% of the total number of places which is 36,000. This means the UK CONTINGENT is 3600 so our merry band of 36 young people in Unit 29 is 0.1% of all the Scouts from across the WHOLE WORLD attending. You can read more about the UK Contingent here (scouts.org.uk) WOSM has a fee structure that makes sure everyone is represented. This is done by the following: - All participating Contingents (such as the UK Contingent) pay a fee to go to the WSJ. - Fees are split into four bands - Wealthier countries, like many Western European countries, USA, Australia and New Zealand pay the most - Other national Scouting Associations with less resources can enjoy our amazing adventure and pay less If you give £10, today. You can then choose to give Gift Aid on top of that. It truly is a WONDERFUL CAUSE, but we need YOUR HELP to get there. Please remember that whatever you give makes a big difference.
