The Story

The Colombia Caravana Coordinator will be running the Loch Rannoch Marathon on 11th October in aid of Colombian human rights defenders and at-risk lawyers. The funds will be used for important follow-up activities in the aftermath of the IX International Delegation of Jurists which took place in August 2026. These activities include international advocacy work and the publication and dissemination of the Caravana Final Report which will expose human rights violations and produce findings and recommendations to improve acces to justice. This year the delegation visited five regions affected by Colombia's internal armed conflict including Catatumbo, Quibdó, Cúcuta, Yopal and La Guajira. Delegates worked with human rights defenders and at-risk lawyers as well as victims of war crimes and crimes against humanity. Caravanistas also met with key actors and senior leaders including the Minister of Justice and former President Juan Manuel Santos.
