The Story
Due to impassable rivers, almost a quarter of a billion people around the world don’t have access to critical resources such as healthcare, education and employment. This locks them into rural poverty, unable to educate themselves, sell their crops at market or even get standard medical treatments. A basic trail bridge can change that!
We are happy to announce that COWI is supporting Bridges to Prosperity to help build a new trail bridge in North Rwanda. The 103m long Nyarurama bridge will provide new opportunities for a remote community of 2,500 people, ensuring they remain safely connected throughout the rainy season to essential services.
To complete the bridge 10 COWI engineers will journey to Rwanda, lending their expertise to the locally hired construction team. To do this we need help covering aeroplane tickets, safety equipment, travel vaccinations, and visas.
Any generous donations you can make towards these items will be greatly appreciated as well as going a long way to making the Nyarurama footbridge a reality.

Any donations received above our goal will help facilitate future Bridges to Prosperity projects. For more information about rural poverty and the difference bridges can make visit bridgestoprosperity.org
