COVID-19 Appeal for Donations

In the weeks that have passed since the World Health Organisation declared the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) a global pandemic, we have all experienced the knock-on effects of this unprecedented public health crisis. From social distancing to school closures, COVID-19 has completely changed how we live our lives. But for the people in our community who already face barriers like poverty and isolation, the effects of the COVID-19 crisis are truly devastating. This includes many of the refugee and asylum seeking women currently supported by Amma Birth Companions, for whom it is especially difficult to prepare for a period of prolonged isolation or illness. Right now, the priority for most people is to ensure the health and wellbeing of family and loved ones—but we still have an important role to play in helping those in need. That's why Amma has launched the "Here for Her" emergency appeal. With your help, we can support asylum seeking and refugee mothers affected by the COVID-19 crisis.   By responding to the Here for Her campaign, you will provide: - Essential items for both mums and babies - Wellbeing activities to keep mothers occcupied during periods of isolation - Support for birth companions to continue in their role Please join me in contributing this worthwhile cause.
