The Story
This 28th February, I will be taking on the challenge of climbing Mount Snowdon. This is not just a test of determination and endurance. It is an act of solidarity with children in Uganda who are living through daily hardships far greater than cold, snow, or exhaustion.
Right now, millions of children around the world are growing up without parents, without security, and without knowing where their next meal will come from. In parts of Uganda, many orphans live in extreme poverty, forced to fend for themselves from a very young age. Without protection or education, their futures are often shaped by exploitation, dangerous labour, or abuse, simply to survive.
Al-Fikr has been working in Uganda for the past five years to change this reality. In Jinja, they have built an orphanage that provides vulnerable children with food, safety, care, and education, giving them a real chance at a future. These children deserve the same hope and opportunity we want for our own.
This is why I am taking on this challenge. A day in freezing temperatures, hiking through snow and ice, is nothing compared to the daily struggle these children face.
Every single pound donated helps provide meals, shelter, and care. Your support can genuinely change lives, and I would be deeply grateful for your help in reaching this goal.

Al-Fikr
This Ramadan, Al-Fikr will is conducting an aid mission to Jinja, Uganda, to deliver life-saving food parcels and hygiene supplies to orphans and families in need.
They aim to provide 2,000 food parcels, delivering the equivalent of 100,000 meals to families who have nowhere else to turn. Each food parcel costs £30 and contains long-life staples that can ease the burden of hunger.
They will also be distributing hygiene packs (with soap, toothbrushes, toothpaste, mosquito nets, and sanitary supplies) at £15 each to help protect the dignity and health of our brothers and sisters who lack access to these basic essentials.
Finally, they will be providing the necessities for the Al-Fikr orphanage, providing shelter, meals, and education for 50 children who have lost their parents.
Your donation, no matter the size, will help change lives and bring relief to people for whom a basic meal is not a given.
This Ramadan, we fast for our deen.
We have a choice.
The people you will be helping have no choice—their lack of food is a daily struggle.
