Al-Fikr
Al-Fikr was established to promote kindness, educate across generations, alleviate distress, and foster selflessness through charity. As a 100% non-profit organisation, we undertake projects locally in the UK and globally, transcending geographical, ethnic, colour, gender, and religious boundaries. Al-Fikr believes in the universal principle that ‘Giving is Believing’.
Every day, globally more than 690 million go to sleep without eating and 1 in 3 suffer from malnutrition. Skipping meals is common, and everyday is a desperate search for food and clean water. Adults go hungry so that children can eat. It is our responsibility and duty to respond to the growing needs in Gaza and rest of the world. To do our part, we aim to provide:
• Community iftar’s
• Food packs
• Gaza vegetable packs
• Gaza hot meals
In the past year, our collective efforts enabled us to provide crucial support to 20,000 individuals in need by supplying them with healthy and nutritious food. As we enter this new year, the challenges have intensified, with millions experiencing severe difficulties in accessing food. Together, let's make a commitment to feed the hungry and ensure that no one is left without the sustenance they require. The time to act is now, before it becomes too late for those in desperate need.
Gaza, under complete siege, faces unthinkable horrors. The pipes supplying Gaza with water have been shut off, leaving millions of people freezing, hungry, and thirsty. An unprecedented 93% of the population in Gaza is facing crisis levels of hunger, with insufficient food and high levels of malnutrition.
Despite dangers, our teams are on the ground delivering crucial aid. We urgently appeal for your support to provide essential aid to survivors facing this deadly ordeal.
The reward of feeding the poor is immense, and the Qur’an tells us that the righteous “give food, out of love for Him, to the poor and the orphan and the captive, [saying] “We feed you, for Allah’s pleasure only — We desire from you neither reward nor thanks.” [76:5-12].
Our appeals are 100% Zakat applicable, meaning every penny of your donation goes towards providing healthy meals to impoverished families around the world!
