The Story

Operation CommUNITY are bringing together organisations to create a crisis centre to combat the impact of Corona Virus for vulnerable and elder members of our community. Joined forces keeping local residents safe: By working in partnership , we are able to make sure the most vulnerable are supported by the services they require to meet individuals needs from within our community. Community organisations backed by statutory bodies has come together to work in the best interests of the isolated and vulnerable to support for our NHS and vital services. Operating across the NHS Primary Care Network area known as “Stort Valley and the Villages” So Bishops Stortford, the Hadhams with all the hamlets between, down to and including Hunsdon. The PCN has a population in the region of 60,000 residents. Approximately 10,800 people sit in the over 60 at risk category.   A mix of volunteers and professionals are working together to operate the services delivered; including befriending, shopping and delivery and well being support. Your donation will be used to make sure we can get the food and supplies needed to those who have been adversely affected by the Corona pandemic. ​ ​

Operation CommUNITY are bringing together organisations to create a crisis centre to combat the impact of Corona Virus for vulnerable and older members of our community. To deliver a crisis centre at Age Concern’s New Apton Centre in Apton Road, Bishop’s Stortford, who are co-ordinating the response by five doctors' surgeries, community groups, charities and churches to ensure older people and vulnerable members of our community are getting practical help and emotional support. Joined forces keeping local residents safe: By working in partnership , we are able to make sure the most vulnerable are supported by the services they require to meet individuals needs from within our community. Those in need will be able to access deliveries of food or prescribed medicines or simply have a chat: Acknowledging that social isolation is potentially going to be more dangerous than the virus in the long term. ​
