Home from Home!

We provide a day centre for our more mature members of the local community. Our purpose being to reduce isolation, as well as promoting physical and mental well-being. Our members love coming to the centre. The centre is becoming increasingly more popular now that the world continues to re-open post-pandemic. We have 14 comfy chairs currently, however have the capacity for a further 6 which would enable us to offer 24 more places each week. The additional seating would also be a financial gain for the charity; we do not want to be in the position we were in 5 months ago when the centre came near to closure. To make the experience even more homely we would like to purchase coffee tables, which will promote the members independence as the tables sit at a higher position for access. The centre is particularly important following the pandemic to bring our community back together again, to help to reduce loneliness and to offer the care our members deserve. Whilst the centre is used for our members during the day, the centre hires out rooms for local community events at affordable prices. Therefore although the chairs are to increase our capacity for the day centre, they have the potential to make a difference to anyone in our local community.
