“From Mountains to Mercy: The Gaza Trek”

Everest Base Camp Challenge for Gaza - Yunus Ali Ahmed This November, I will take on one of the greatest challenges of my life. Trekking to Everest Base Camp to raise £10,000 for the people of Gaza, through the vital work of Qamar Trust. Over 17 days, I’ll trek nearly 100 miles (160 km) through the breathtaking yet challenging Himalayas, climbing to 5,500m or 18,200ft for unforgettable views of Mount Everest. I am 68 years old. I am doing this to raise money for Gaza. It was such a relief to hear of peace finally greeting the long suffering people of Gaza. The World has witnessed in real time the thousands of innocent lives lost or people severely disabled. Whole families torn apart...mothers who have lost their children, the children who go to sleep hungry and afraid, and the families struggling to survive without food, water, or shelter. Despite the optimism of recent days, there remains a huge rebuilding job. I want to use this trek and with your help raise money to help relief efforts and bring hope for the people of Gaza. The bombing may be over (lets hope for good) but the suffering will continue for a long time. All donations will go directly to Qamar Trust, who are working tirelessly to deliver food, clean water, medical aid, and emergency relief on the ground in Gaza. Zakat donations are welcome and will be distributed accordingly to those eligible and most in need. Together, whatever our background or politics, we can help ease their pain. Together, we can show that they are not forgotten. Please help me reach my goal of £10,000.
