The Story
This preview screening of the multi-award-winning film, ahead of its UK cinema release on 27th September, will be followed by a panel discussion with director and filmmaker Farah Nabulsi, lead actor Saleh Bakri, anti-apartheid activist and arms trade author Andrew Feinstein, and Khaled Dawas, Chair of Trustees at FQMS/Hanoon.
Oscar-nominated and BAFTA award-winning Palestinian-British filmmaker Farah Nabulsi makes her multi-award-winning directorial debut with THE TEACHER. The film follows Basem (Saleh Bakri), a Palestinian school teacher, as he struggles to balance his risky commitment to political resistance with his emotional support for a student and the potential for a new relationship with a volunteer worker (Imogen Poots).
The Critical Collective is partnering with Genesis Cinema and FQMS/Hanoon to raise funds for its emergency appeal for Gaza. @critical_collective_ @fqms
The film will start on time with no ads or trailers.
About FQMS/Hanoon:
FQMS/Hanoon is a UK-based charity, established in 1997, dedicated to advancing medical education in Palestine. We focus on enhancing Palestinian medical education and postgraduate training. Through our collaborations with medical schools and both local and international charities, our programmes aim to improve the quality and breadth of teaching available at Palestinian medical institutions. Our vision is a future where Palestinian healthcare is self-sufficient, supported by exceptional medical education. This would reduce the need for patients to seek costly and logistically challenging treatments abroad. To learn more about our programmes and projects, please visit our website: FQMS.org.
