In Support of Medical Training in the Occupied Palestinian Territory

FQMS, a British registered charity, has been at the forefront of investing in the medical education and postgraduate training of Palestinians in the occupied Palestinian territory since 1997. Recognising the urgent need in capacity building, a direct result of Israel’s military occupation and years of de-development, FQMS strives to build a self-sufficient and independent Palestinian healthcare system. Since 7 October 2023, the healthcare system in Gaza has been systematically decimated and health workers targeted. 498 have been killed according to the Ministry of Health in Gaza (UN 19 June 2024), and 118 detained/arrested (WHO 30 Apr 2024). With over 85,000 reported injuries and the tragic loss of professional expertise, the remaining health workers are enduring the unthinkable. They are providing lifesaving services, whilst trying to survive themselves and care for their families. The destruction is apocalyptic, and the needs are colossal.
