SLEEP OUT TO HELP OUT! - For The Cart Shed
I offer the flimiest apology to Mr Sunak for my title which some may see as obvious plagiarism.
This winter is going to be tough for a lot of people with many factors no doubt challenging the state of the nation's well being. I would imagine that this winter and next year the very special services provided by the amazing Cart Shed will be in even greater demand helping those with mental ill-health.
A couple of years ago I did a similar charity Sleep Out raising much needed funds for The Cart Shed. I say similar, but actually nothing is further from the truth. Previously I did this in the third week of May, I was on a relatively comfortable camp bed, with my lovely duvet, pillows, cuddly dog and a fire.
This time it's going to be much more challenging, for me. I will have a sleeping bag, a bivvie bag, it will be dark by 7pm and will remain so until 6a.30am. I will be outdoors, with very little shelter and high on Castle Hill on the Wales/England border by very kind permission of The Knucklas Castle Community Land Project,.... and in the middle of October with whatever the weather throws at me. My granddaughters have advised that I take sufficient snacks for the midnight feast. I look on the bright side, at least I won't be woken up circa 4am by a deafening dawn chorus this time around.
This effort has to be put in context with the fact that I hate the constriction of a sleeping bag, I hate camping, I hate sleeping on the floor. I love my bed, my duvet and my pillows. I love The Cart Shed and all it achieves,
The Cart Shed needs all the help it can get, can I please ask that you consider making a donation and then please, please do forward the link to this page and a message to all you know, via Messenger, Email, Facebook, Whats App, paper copy, word of mouth, whatever means.
Thank you most sincerely, kind regards Phil
