The Story
We are excited to be running a new pilot with Anglia Ruskin University, to train all their BA Primary Education Students in TastEd methodology. We believe that equipping the next generation of teachers to deliver TastEd is one of the most impactful and fastest ways to grow and embed sensory food education in schools across the country.
We’ll be training 80 future teachers and providing them with the support to run their very own TastEd lessons. This means over 2,000 primary school children will experience a TastEd lesson.
We’re seeking support to deliver this ground-breaking initiative:
£20 – helps provide vegetables and fruits for a TastEd lesson delivered by a Trainee Teacher
£50 – supports transport costs so our training team can spend the day with ARU students, building their confidence in delivering TastEd lessons
£100 – the not so exciting, but essential part – covers our staff time for project managing this brand-new initiative
£250 – ensures all our newly trained newbie teachers can have access to our online learning platform, packed-full of all the resources they’ll need to deliver hundreds of TastEd lessons throughout their career
*any income raised above and beyond the amount required to deliver this project will go towards supporting the wider work of TastEd

Changing the Way Children Experience Food
TastEd is a national charity dedicated to inspiring positive relationships with healthy and sustainable foods, specifically vegetables and fruit. Through engaging, hands-on sensory food education activities, linked to the national curriculum, we equip young children with essential skills, confidence and knowledge to explore and enjoy healthy eating.
We offer young children the opportunity to learn by doing through exploration, opposed to traditional, theoretical food education. Children explore food through their senses: the loud crunch of celery versus the gentle burst of a blueberry, and away from the pressures of a dining hall or mealtime.
Our resources and training support teachers and early years practitioners to deliver a wide range of simple, cost-effective lessons and activities, that link to the national curriculum and early years framework. Our lessons are not about teaching children what foods are ‘good’ and ‘bad’, they are about inspiring joy, curiosity and fostering self-awareness about fruits and vegetables, cultivating lifelong habits that benefit individuals, families, and our communities.
