The Story
Help Chico Walk Again – A Second Chance for a Brave Little Soul
Chico’s story begins with heartbreak — but with your help, it can end in hope.
This young puppy was found abandoned, dragging his back legs along a quiet path. Terrified, malnourished, and in pain, he tried to hide from those trying to help him. A clear victim of long-term neglect, Chico’s condition was both shocking and deeply saddening.
Thankfully, a kind animal lover found him during her walk and refused to leave him behind. She brought Chico to us, and we immediately took him for urgent veterinary care. After tests and X-rays, it became clear that he would need orthopedic surgery if he ever had a chance at walking again.
But Chico’s case isn’t a simple one. His injuries are both severe and rare, and before surgery can even begin, he needs a CT scan. This scan will be reviewed by a specialized orthopedic consultant, who will give detailed instructions to our surgeon on exactly how to repair Chico’s legs.
The cost of the CT scan and specialist review alone is €1,000, and the surgery — including necessary implants — will cost another €1,000.
Chico is still growing and will become a medium-to-large dog. Without immediate intervention, the damage could become permanent. Although this surgery doesn’t guarantee he won’t need further support in the future, it is his best chance at a normal, pain-free life.
We are lucky to have a top orthopedic surgeon ready to operate, and with proper rehabilitation, Chico has every chance of running and playing like every puppy should.
But we can’t do this without your help.
We need to raise €2,000 to give Chico the comprehensive care he urgently needs. Every donation, no matter the size, will bring us one step closer to changing his future.
👉 Please donate if you can. Share if you care.
Let’s give Chico the chance he’s never had — to walk, to play, and to live a life filled with love and dignity.
