Simonsberg 70: Build the Future, Honour the Legacy

For 70 years, Simonsberg has shaped leaders grounded in brotherhood, excellence, and service. As we celebrate this milestone, we invite you to help build the next chapter – by supporting the redevelopment of our Spelesaal into a dynamic, multipurpose space that will inspire Simonsbergers for decades to come. Why now? The current Spelesaal no longer meets the needs of today’s students. It lacks functionality, comfort and the flexibility required to support study, recreation and meaningful connection. We’re raising R3 million to transform it into a vibrant, modern space that includes: * Study areas for academic focus * Multiple meeting rooms for collaboration and leadership activities * A recreational area to unwind and build camaraderie This is more than bricks and mortar. It’s about honouring 70 years of Noblesse Oblige – the belief that with privilege comes responsibility. It’s about giving future Simonsbergers what you had: space to grow, lead, and belong. The University will contribute up to R1 million – but we need our alumni, families and friends to help us reach the full goal. Your name. On our wall. In our story. All donors will be recognised on a donor board in the new space. Group donations (HK groups, first-year groups, etc.) are welcomed and encouraged.
