The Story

Creating an opportunity for inclusion through education The Social Justice Walk, led by Professor Thuli Madonsela, Law Trust Chair for Social Justice at SU, forms part of the #Action4Inclusion crowdfunding initiative that helps to minimise student debt and unlock students’ potential to contribute to our country and continent. Many students in South Africa are overburdened by university fee debts. The burden of historic debt owed to universities by students from poor and working-class families is of great concern. This massive debt situation means that students are unable to register for the new academic year and subsequently cannot complete their tertiary qualifications. No student should be denied access to education based on their financial struggles. SU recognises the need for partnerships that aid in broadening access for students. The Social Justice Walk is your opportunity to partner with us. Everyone is invited The 12,5 km walk starts at 08:00 outside Dunnes in Henry Street, Dublin, and ends near Beech Road. Stellenbosch University and Prof. Thuli Madonsela invites corporations, alumni, friends of the University, students and staff of the Dublin community, as well as the broader virtual village to join the event and show their support for inclusive education by donating to this worthy cause. Making strides Through #Action4Inclusion, SU has made significant progress in addressing student debt. To date, the campaign has assisted over 100 students to overcome their financial burdens and continue their academic journeys. However, there are many more who need your financial support. Donate Now You are strongly encouraged to become an active financial partner by supporting #Action4Inclusion. This will offer many more students the opportunity to register for the next academic year. Please donate HERE and do consider becoming a monthly supporter of this worthwhile cause.
