The Story
I am Arnold Marambire and on Sunday, 14 September 2025, I’ll be taking on my very first London to Brighton Cycle Ride as part of Team Maties, and I couldn’t be more excited — and curious — about the experience.
There are a few reasons I signed up for this challenge. First and foremost, I have the opportunity to contribute in a small but meaningful way to the UK/EU Bursary Fund. This fund helps academically gifted students from underprivileged backgrounds at Stellenbosch University to clear their student debt. As a proud Matie, I’m passionate about helping others access the same opportunities I had — and this ride is a chance to do just that.
Of course, I’m also really looking forward to the ride itself. I’ve heard the route is scenic, and I can already picture myself enjoying the views along the way and the summer breeze at the Brighton seafront. I’m hoping to meet new people, share stories, and be inspired by others who are riding for causes close to their hearts.
This is also my way of encouraging friends and colleagues to take advantage of the many opportunities out there to support good causes. Whether it’s education, health, or any passion you care about — every contribution matters.
Please consider supporting my ride and helping me make a difference for students in need. Let’s show what Maties can do when we ride together for a cause.
