RDA - Riding for the Disabled Abingdon Indoor Arena

Saarah used to go riding every week at the RDA. She didn't like it at first (as you can see from the picture!) but she soon came to enjoy it. There is no doubt that horse-riding played a huge part in helping Saarah build the strength to walk. It was hard work, which is why it was so good for her core strength. I remember taking her a week or so before she passed away. As usual it would take the bribe of a banana to coax her out of the car and before long she had her helmet on and was ready to go. The weather was nice so we were outdoors that day. We were doing some gentle trots dropping toys in baskets at the end of each lap. After a while she got tired and just decided to lean forward and lay down on the horse with a big smile on her face. That was Saarah to a tee. The RDA has already raised an amazing £250, 000 towards a total cost of £270,000 for the indoor arena.
