The Story
The Harm Reduction Hub is a community drop-in centre which provides low threshold harm reduction advice and signposting for any visitor, with the goal of benefitting people who are traditionally underserved due to stigma - such as people who rough sleep, use drugs, or sex work. We offer low barrier naloxone distribution, drug testing supplies, and a needle and syringe programme.
Given the increasing spread of synthetic opioids contaminating multiple drug supplies across the UK, and the government’s hesitancy to provide the infrastructure and resources to protect people's health and wellbeing, we believe that there’s a need for a space to build our community knowledge and capacity to keep each other safer.
In order to keep our programme alive, we rely on small donations. For just £5, we can buy 30 needles and syringes, 900 alcohol swabs, or 25 condoms - that is a lot of harm reduced!
*When and where is this Hub?*
The Hub is currently located at our office on 61 Mansell Street - between Aldgate/Aldgate East and Tower Hill tube stations. Visitors are always welcome.
For now, the Hub is running from Monday to Thursday, 14:00 to 17:00. We also have opening times we call 'out of office hours' which can vary month to month depending on our staffing capacity – the best way to get updates on the hours is on this page or through our Instagram @release_drugs. In general, we open on ODD Fridays of the month from 7 to 10 pm and EVEN Saturdays of the month from 4 to 7 pm.
