The Story
In 2024 we are undertaking a new cycling challenge, this time taking on the green and hilly terrain of Northern Spain. We will cycle ~900km and climb 15000m over 8 days this August.
As a result of the hard work of Headteacher Paul Kasadha and team at Nalango School, and with the all the support and fundraising over the past 15 years, the school continues to be a success. Due to educational results and the ongoing standard of quality school facilities, the school was recently recognised by the Ugandan government for this sustained achievement. This recognition will provide additional funding for school fees and staff wages.
This ongoing success now presents new challenges. During a visit in February 2024, we worked with Paul to identify the immediate needs of the school and drew up a list of priorities. The top priority is to improve the catering capacity within the school by building a new Kitchen/dining facility.
Currently the kitchen is in poor condition and is not fit for purpose. Originally operating a house on land acquired for the expansion of the school, there is a lack of space, inadequate ventilation, and faced with increasing number of students and staff, a more suitable facility is required. This is the primary goal of our fundraising this summer. Any further donations in support of the project are gratefully received.
