Who Got Game 1s

This fundraising event is more than just a competition—it is part of our journey as students studying Sports Management at university. As part of our course module, we have been challenged to plan, organise, and deliver a live sporting event, applying everything we’ve learned in a real-world setting. Rather than simply hosting an event, we wanted to create something meaningful. That’s why we chose to turn our 1v1 American football tournament into a fundraiser in support of Medaid UK. Through this project, we are not only developing our skills in event management, marketing, and teamwork, but also using sport as a platform to make a positive impact. Every decision—from planning the format to promoting the event—has been driven by both our academic goals and our desire to support an important cause. The funds raised will go towards Medaid UK’s ongoing projects, helping provide essential medical equipment and support to those who need it most. Knowing that our work as students can contribute to real change makes this experience even more rewarding. This event represents the power of sport beyond the field—bringing people together, building skills, and supporting communities around the world.
