The Story
On the 26th April 2026 I’ll be taking on the London Marathon for the very first time, raising funds for Lewisham To The World, a new charity founded by Olympic triathlete Alex Yee.
My fundraising target is £2,500. Every pound raised will go directly towards helping young people from Lewisham believe that where you start does not limit where you can go.
Alex Yee is one of Britain’s most inspiring endurance athletes. A Gold medal Olympian and world champion triathlete who grew up in Lewisham, South East London.
What makes Alex special isn’t just what he’s achieved on the world stage, but how he’s done it:
• Started triathlon at Crystal Palace, aged 8 rising to the very top of international sport.
• Staying grounded, humble, and community focused.
• Using sport as a vehicle for opportunity, confidence, and belief.
Alex stands for hard work, kindness and providing opportunities for the community that he grew up in. Lewisham To The World is his way of ensuring the next generation gets the same chance to dream big.
Lewisham To The World is a new charity with a simple but powerful idea: Talent is everywhere. Opportunity is not.
The charity aims to:
• Support young people in Lewisham through sport, movement, and healthy lifestyles;
• Inspire confidence, discipline, and self belief.
• Show that global success can start from a local community.
• Remove barriers to participation and opportunity.
It’s about opening doors, building healthy habits early, and showing young people that their background does not define their ceiling.
Why I’m doing this? Well at 55 years of age I thought it was about time I ran a marathon. This marathon is a personal challenge, but it’s also about doing something meaningful. Running for Lewisham To The World allows me to support a cause that combines sport, community, wellbeing and opportunity, values I deeply believe in.
Whether you donate, share this page, or simply cheer me on, thank You. Your support means a huge amount to me, and to the young people this charity exists to help.

"Congratulations Jason. One of the big 6 in your bag 😉"
