The Story
On 26th July, one of our amazing PALS, Chloe, is setting off on the adventure of a lifetime. Over 17 days, she'll be cycling 874 miles from Land's End to John o' Groats — the entire length of Britain — to raise money for PALS West Berkshire.
That's roughly 51 miles a day. Through Cornish cliffs, Devon hills, Lake District passes, and the wild Scottish Highlands. In all weathers. On two wheels. Because she believes in what we do.
In Chloe's own words:
"I feel nervous, scared, excited and proud to be doing this. People who know me think I'm crazy. I know it's a very long way and I'm going to be tired, and I don't like getting up early in the morning for training sessions, but once I am on the bike it feels amazing.
It's going to be a great family adventure, and I really want to inspire people with a disability and help Helen at PALS because she helps me, and Treloar's too.
The best bit is Daddy says I can eat as much pasta and cake as I like!"
If that doesn't make you want to lace up your trainers, charge up your power chair, or pump up your tyres, nothing will.
Now we're asking you to join her. Welcome to PALS with Purpose.
Between 26th July and 12th August, while Chloe is pedalling her way up Britain, we want every PALS family, friend, volunteer, and supporter to travel as far as you can — in whatever way works for you.
Walk it. Wheel it. Swim it. Scoot it. Cycle it. Power chair it. Push a buggy round the park. Lap the garden. Climb the stairs. Every metre counts, and every way of moving matters. That's the whole point of PALS with Purpose — your miles, your way, all adding up to something bigger.
