Taking on London Marathon

I started my running journey in 2021, since then I have been lucky enough to continue to run in some great races, and experience 2 Marathons, and raise funds for worthy causes. I am about to take on my 3rd! I was due to run London in April last year, with my team Christina, Ruth, and Aude, but had to step back because of a small injury. Now I’m back, and while I’ll be running solo, I won’t be alone. Cancer has touched people close to me, and I am running for them—and for others who may face a diagnosis in the future. That’s why I’m raising funds for Oncogene Cancer Research (OCR), which supports vital research at the Institute of Cancer Research (ICR). I’m also thrilled to be doing it in my hometown again and be privileged enough to have this opportunity to help this charity, surrounded by the support of friends and family. Research is the key to finding better treatments and cures. OCR, started by our amazing friend Yvonne soon after her stage 4 lung cancer diagnosis, funds research for cancers originating in the lungs and works hand in hand with the ICR. The ICR is one of the world’s most influential cancer research institutes, with a record of achievement spanning more than 100 years. Their mission: to make discoveries that defeat cancer. Some of their landmark achievements include: ✅ The identification of the BRCA2 gene in breast cancer ✅ Early chemotherapy drug discoveries ✅ Treatments for advanced prostate cancer Last year Christina, Ruth, and Aude raised an incredible £10,600, which is already powering life-saving research at the ICR.
