The Story

Drumduan School is registered charity, and it has been a beacon of holistic Steiner Waldorf education in the north of Scotland for 40 years. Here, children grow through creativity, craft, nature, and community — learning with their hands, heart, and head. As we celebrate this milestone, we are reaching out to those who know, love, or believe in the Drumduan journey. Many alumni and friends will remember the rhythm of the seasons, the joy of craft and movement, the warmth of community, the closeness of our small class sizes, our experiential model of learning, and the deep respect for childhood that shaped so many lives. Today, some Drumduan families are experiencing unexpected financial hardship. Together, we can extend a helping hand so that every child can continue to be supported in an environment where they learn and grow. By contributing to the Fee Assistance & Hardship Fund, you help ensure that a child can remain in, or even return to, an environment that meets them as a whole human being, through artistic, practical, and academic learning. This Fund is means tested, and is overseen with clear governance by our Trustees. In honour of our 40th anniversary, we are seeking to raise £40,000 toward the Fund. Every gift helps a student stay rooted in stability, friendship, and the care of teachers who strive to know and support them. This continuity can be life-changing — a chance to grow with confidence, stay connected to community, and carry forward the light first found at Drumduan. We invite you to participate in a spirit of generosity — a living gift cycle that has supported Waldorf education for generations. If Waldorf education has touched your life, we invite you to help hold that light for another. Your generosity strengthens families, supports our community, and keeps access to Waldorf education open to those who need it most. We are deeply grateful to all families — past and present — whose commitment sustains our school.

Drumduan School

For 40 years, Drumduan has been more than a school — it has been a living, breathing community; a place where children grow in rhythm with the seasons, find their voice through creativity and craft, and build strong roots for a thoughtful, compassionate life. We are proud to offer a Steiner Waldorf education that nurtures not just academic understanding, but the whole human being — heart, hands and head. "Drumduan is not just a school — it is a place where my child rediscovered joy. When our finances collapsed unexpectedly, the possibility of leaving broke our hearts. Support like this fund could be life-changing for families like ours." — A Drumduan parent (2025)
