Sacred Sounds Music Campaign

The 2026 Music Fundraising Campaign marks an inspiring new chapter for Cathedral music, fuelled by the renewed momentum following the appointment of a permanent Director and Assistant Director of Music. With a goal of raising at least £50,000, the campaign seeks to strengthen and sustain the Cathedral’s rich musical life—supporting its growth, excellence, and daily running—while encouraging families to play an active role in the musical journey of our young people. It will help secure the long‑term financial stability of chorister places so that talent, not financial means, determines who can take part, celebrate the enduring connection of Chorister alumni, and broaden public understanding of the immense cultural, educational, and spiritual value that Cathedral music brings to the wider community. All of this takes place within the remarkable setting of Peterborough Cathedral: a living piece of history and the beating heart of the city. Its awe‑inspiring Norman architecture, welcoming congregation, and vibrant choral tradition create a spiritual home where people from all backgrounds come together in worship, hospitality, and shared purpose. Blending centuries‑old heritage with a thriving, inclusive community, the Cathedral continues to inspire through music, outreach, and faith—ensuring that its choral life will uplift generations to come.
