The Story
Hello Friends,
My name is Liya jose
I currently work as a nurse at the Royal United Hospital in Bath, UK. I have been living in the UK for the past three years. Originally, I’m from Angamaly, Kerala. I live here alone, while my parents and brother reside back home in India. From my early years in Kerala, I have been actively involved in various charitable events, especially through organisations like NSS and KCYM. These experiences have shaped my deep-rooted passion for helping others and giving back to the community. I have always believed that true happiness comes from serving those in need, and that belief continues to guide me today. When I heard about the opportunity to be part of the BMCF Charity Walk, I was genuinely excited and applied without hesitation. I feel honoured to have been selected. BMCF is a remarkable charitable organisation that has already touched many lives, and I have no doubt that it will continue to do so in the future.
This charity walk is more than just an event — it’s a movement. I strongly believe society must open its eyes to the real struggles faced by many individuals around us. With this walk, I want to send a clear message: Let’s not turn away from the suffering of others. Let’s come together, act with compassion, and make a difference.
I would also like to express my admiration for Gopinath Muthukad, a social activist from Kerala whose work has always inspired me. His dedication to uplifting lives through meaningful action is a shining example for us all.
It’s a privilege to stand with BMCF and fellow participants in this noble cause. Together, we walk not just with our feet — but with our hearts.
On Sunday 19th October 2025, the suburbs of Leicestershire will come alive with the power of unity, compassion and magic as Gopinath Muthukad – world-renowned magician turned humanitarian – leads a heartwarming initiative to transform the lives of children with disabilities. Through “Walk with Muthukad – Change Lives thru BMCF” & "BMCF M'Cube Magic Moments"we aim to raise crucial funds for the International Institute for Children with Disabilities at Kasaragod, Kerala, India – a world-class centre offering care, education and empowerment to differently-abled children.
To mark this event as a very special occasion, British Malayali Charity Foundation has also decided to honour one of the local community charities in UK, as always has been doing, in their outstanding services being rendered to the needy people in the society. As such, British Malayali Charity Foundation will be giving an amount of £ 1,000.00 to Open Hands Leicester, one of the leading community charities from Leicester as a token of solidarity and gratitude in their relentless efforts in supporting many deserving people in and around Leicestershire.
"BMCF M'Cube Magic Moments"
The charity walk in the morning sets the tone for a day dedicated to hope, culminating in the grand evening of magic moments with Muthukad at Prajapati Hall, Leicester blending magic, music, and motivation at 4 PM.
This is not just a show — it’s a movement of love and change. By supporting these initiatives, you directly contribute to building a future of dignity for hundreds of children society often overlooks. We invite you to be a part of these transformative events by making a generous contribution. All contributions will go directly towards the construction and operation of the Kasaragod institute, which is set to open its doors by 2029.
Your support will not only make the above events a grand succes but also bring lasting light into the lives of those who need it most.
Please ensure to give consent to claim gift aid if eligible as every £ 1.00 you donate get enhanced to another £ 0.25 by doing so.
Thanks & Regards,
Liya
