The Story

My name is Lissy Unnikrishnan. I have spent the last 35 years working as a nurse, and I currently serve in the surgical ward at Royal South Hants PPG Hospital. Nursing has always been more than a profession to me it’s a calling and a way of life. I trained in Bombay Hospital and have worked in Saudi Arabia and Dubai, gaining experience and perspective that have shaped my journey in healthcare. Over the years, I have remained committed to offering care with compassion and dignity. Outside of my nursing career, I am passionate about community service. I am one of the founding members of Mother's Charity and, where I work to support causes that uplift and empower the underprivileged. One of the projects close to my heart is the fundraising effort for the International Institute for Children with Disabilities in Kasaragod, Kerala. Through “Walk with Muthukad Change Lives thru BMCF” and “BMCF M’Cube Magic Moments,” we are raising funds to support differently-abled children with world-class care, education, and opportunity. I am also a lover of gardening and flowers it brings peace and balance to my life. I am grateful to have the constant support of my family my husband Unnikrishnan, my son Dhruvan, and my daughter Jilu. Their encouragement keeps me going, both in my professional and charitable efforts. I believe that small acts of kindness can create meaningful change. By walking for this cause, I hope to contribute to a better future for children who deserve every opportunity to thrive. Thank you for being part of this journey. “Walk With Muthukad; Change lives thru BMCF " & ” BMCF '/M Cube Magic Moments" On Sunday 19th October 2025, the suburbs of Leicestershire will come alive with the power of unity, compassion and magic as Gopinath Muthukad – world-renowned magician turned humanitarian – leads a heartwarming initiative to transform the lives of children with disabilities.
