Help Bring Libin Home: A Heartfelt Appeal It is with deep sorrow and a heavy heart that we share the tragic news of the untimely passing of our dear friend Libin, lovingly known as Munnan, a vibrant young soul of just 27 years. Libin’s journey in the UK began on 15th June 2022 on a student visa, where he pursued an MSc in Business and Marketing at Northumbria University, London. After completing his studies, he started working at a care home in Boston, UK, securing a work permit and building a life filled with dreams and hope. Libin was known for his kindness, dedication, and positive spirit. But fate had other plans. On 7th January 2025, he was admitted to Boston Pilgrim Hospital with severe headaches. His condition worsened, and he was transferred to Queen’s Medical Centre in Nottingham, where he fought a rare and aggressive brain infection. Despite the best medical care, Libin tragically passed away on 27th January 2025. Libin hailed from Alathur in Palakkad, Kerala, and was the beloved elder son of Mr. Lijo M. Joy and Mrs. Bini K Abraham. He has a younger brother Jobin M Lijo. His parents run a small grocery shop and a Milma booth to make ends meet. To support Libin’s dream of studying in the UK, they incurred a debt of £17,000 for his student visa and educational expenses. Back home, Libin was a dynamic presence in youth movements and church activities, leaving a lasting impression on everyone who knew him. His untimely departure has left his family, friends, and colleagues in shock and grief. The pain is immeasurable, but we are united in our effort to ensure Libin gets the final journey he deserves—to return to his homeland, where his family awaits to bid him farewell. We, at BMCF, alongside the Malayali community in Boston are rallying together to raise funds to repatriate Libin’s body to Kerala. This process involves significant costs, and we need your help to make this happen. Every donation, no matter how small, can make a tremendous difference to Libin's family during this critical time.
