Fundraising for Jobin Mathews Appeal

Support for the Family of Jobin Mathews With deep sadness, we share the heartbreaking news of the passing of Jobin Mathews, aged 44, a loving husband, devoted father, and cherished friend to many in our community. Jobin came to the UK four years ago to build a better life for his family. On 25 November 2025, he was suddenly admitted to hospital with gastrointestinal disease, where he suffered a major heart attack and was moved to Intensive Care. He fought bravely for 13 days, but due to multi-organ failure, he sadly passed away on 08 December 2025. Jobin leaves behind his wife Remya Varghese, a hardworking nurse at Croydon University Hospital, and their two young children Rebecca (9) and Joshua (2). He was also the beloved son of elderly parents in Palakkad, India, and a brother to three sisters. The family is now facing unimaginable emotional and financial hardship. Jobin had been unemployed for the past 6 months, and the sudden tragedy has left Remya as the only breadwinner, caring for two very young children while grieving her husband. Both families' parents are elderly and unable to travel to the UK during this painful time. We are raising funds to: Repatriate Jobin’s body to India so his family can perform the funeral rites. Support Remya and the children during this extremely difficult period. Provide some stability for the children as they cope with the loss of their father. Any contribution, no matter how small, will help this young family who has lost so much so suddenly. Your kindness, prayers, and generosity mean more than words can express.
