The Story

A Heartfelt Appeal to Bring James Mathew Home for His Final Journey **Please Help Us Give James the Dignified Farewell He Deserves** It is with profound sadness and heavy hearts that we share the news of the passing of **James Mathew, aged 57**, a beloved member of the Malayali community who lived in Lytham St Annes, near Blackpool. Originally from Kozhikode, Kerala, James arrived in the UK with his family on 10 March 2024, carrying hopes and dreams of building a better future for his loved ones. Sadly, his journey was cut short by oesophageal cancer, which was diagnosed in May 2025 after numerous medical investigations and biopsies. James fought his illness with courage, but despite treatment, he sadly passed away, leaving behind his loving wife, Shini, and their three young children, Analisa James (12), Azelia Rose James (10), and Antonio James (10). In a foreign land, far away from their extended family and familiar support network, Shini and the children are now facing the unimaginable pain of losing their beloved husband and father. Alongside their grief, they must also cope with the practical and financial challenges of bringing James home to his beloved homeland for his final journey. **The family has approached BMCF for support in repatriating James's body to India and arranging his funeral service.** At this heartbreaking time, we appeal to the generosity and compassion of the UK Malayali community, friends, well-wishers, and everyone who believes in standing together when a family needs us most. Every contribution, however small, will help ease the financial burden on this grieving family and support the arrangements to take James home to Kerala, where he can be laid to rest among his loved ones, with the dignity and respect he deserves. If you are unable to contribute financially, please consider sharing this appeal with your friends, family, and wider community. Your prayers, kindness, and support will mean more than words can express. Let us come together as one community to support Shini and her three young children through this devastating loss. We cannot take away their pain, but together, we can help ease their burden and ensure James's final journey home is met with love, dignity, and compassion. ** Please donate generously. Every pound makes a difference.** **Important for UK taxpayers:** If you are a UK taxpayer, please don't forget to tick the **Gift Aid** box when making your donation, if you are eligible. This allows an eligible charity to claim an additional 25p for every £1 donated at no extra cost to you. May God grant eternal rest to James's soul and give Shini and the children the strength to face the days ahead. Thank you for your kindness, generosity, and prayers.
