The Story
A Heartfelt Appeal to Support Tharun’s Family
With deep sadness and heavy hearts, we share the tragic news of the sudden passing of Cheriyan (Tharun), aged just 37, who leaves behind his loving wife, Jelbi, and their two young children, an eight-year-old son and a six-month-old baby girl.
Tharun and his family had been living in the UK for the past four years, working hard to build a better future for their children. Tragically, after being admitted to hospital with a fever and toothache, his condition deteriorated rapidly, and he suffered a cardiac arrest. Despite the medical team's efforts, Tharun passed away on 16 October 2026, leaving his family devastated and facing an uncertain future.
The family had been preparing to travel to India to celebrate their baby daughter's baptism and spend precious time with their loved ones. Instead, they are now confronted with an unimaginable loss. At just 37, Tharun's life has been cut short, leaving his wife to face the difficult journey ahead without her husband and their children without their father's love, care and guidance.
Jelbi now has the enormous responsibility of raising two young children, including a six-month-old baby, while coping with the emotional pain of losing her life partner so suddenly. During this heartbreaking time, the family needs our compassion, kindness and support more than ever.
As a community, let us come together to stand beside Jelbi and her children. Every donation, however small, can help ease some of the financial pressures they may face and provide a little security as they begin to navigate life without Tharun. Your contribution is not just financial assistance; it is a gesture of humanity, solidarity and hope for a family going through an unimaginable tragedy.
We humbly appeal to everyone to contribute whatever they can and help this young family through their darkest hour. Together, let us ensure that Jelbi and her children do not have to face this difficult journey alone.
May Tharun's soul rest in eternal peace, and may Jelbi and her children find strength, comfort and hope through the kindness and generosity of our community.
