Mrs Chandrika Appeal

Dear Friends, We are heartbroken to share the sudden and tragic passing of Mrs. Chandri, a beloved mother and grandmother, who came to the UK just three months ago to help care for her son's young children. On 14th September, she was rushed to Southampton General Hospital with chest pain, and despite doctors’ efforts including the placement of two stents she sadly passed away following a heart attack on 15th September at 6:30 PM. Chandrika had been active and healthy before arriving from Kerala, India, where she lived a simple life under the Thozhilurappu employment scheme. Her sudden deterioration came as a shock to the family, and with no medical insurance in place, they are now left facing significant financial and emotional strain. Her son Sumith, daughter-in-law Joyce, and their two young children (aged just 4 years and 6 months) live in Southampton. The family had already taken out large loans to migrate to the UK and now face additional medical and funeral bills exceeding £5,000, along with costs for repatriating Chandrika's body to India so that she can receive her final rites in her homeland.
