The Story
HCA is in the next stage of development. We want to continue to meet new government requirements to complete an additional classroom but our vision is that the new school structure will also include a library, computer lab, and an art room. With more space, we will be able to offer a wider range of activities that lead to lifelong success.

Zanzibar Learning 4 Life Foundation helps disadvantaged children to reach their full potential. In January 2020, we opened the doors of Heroes Community Academy (HCA), a place where students learn various subjects, interact with one another, pass their state exams, and transform into the heroes society needs. The education system in Zanzibar tends to discriminate against students with learning disabilities and often rushes through the curriculum in order to reach governmental standards. Our goal is to take education to the next level for students by meeting the well-known Maslow’s hierarchy of needs; physiological support, safety, love/belonging, esteem, and self-actualization. The majority of enrolled students face the struggles of finding their next meal, let alone understanding their potential for success.
