The Story
Gasica doesn't sit back and feel satisfied with what he's achieved but always sees the next need. Currently he wants to build more classrooms, buy a large school bus and find sponsors for individual students whose families are struggling. Volunteers and friends from Germany and the Netherlands suggested that he spreads his message by a visit to their countries.
To this end, Gasica has gone through the long, complicated and expensive process to get a visa to visit Europe in June. He's paid for the visa, health and travel insurance as well as 2 trips to Dar for the interview process and passport collection. Friends in Germany are hosting him and paying for local travel and expenses. All he needs to do now is to raise the money for the international flight which will cost £880 (2,900,000 TZS) round trip. Any sizes of donations would be appreciated and we hope can be turned into long-term benefit for children in Zanzibar by finding new international supporters. Many of you have kindly supported Gasica's fund-raising campaigns in the past and will know of his long-term commitment to helping children and young people in Zanzibar. Since 2006 he has run an after-school club for children who are failed by the government education system. A pivotal trip for Gasica was his visit to the UK in 2016 which led him to set up Heroes Community Academy, a primary school which now educates 268 children including some with disabilities.
"All the best, Gasica!"
