The Story
On the 1st of March we are taking on the Brighton Half to raise money for a cause very close to our hearts, Bounds Green Food Bank.
The Food Bank is fighting to stay open and will be closing this summer unless they raise £40,000.
They provide food, care, and dignity to over 4,600 people, including 1,400 children.
Some of these guests include university students, retirees and people in full time employment supporting their families. Due to a fall in funding and the rising cost of essentials, they are struggling to meet the growing needs.
It costs over £6,300 every month to keep shelves stocked and doors open, but they're only receiving around £2,400 in donations.
13.1 miles will be tough (even though we've been training for months), but it's nothing compared to the daily challenges faced by those in food poverty.

Our commitment is to share food across our community and improve lives by providing food and essential household items to build a healthy, hunger-free tomorrow.
We aim to:
• Promote social inclusion by supporting people who find themselves in a crisis situation where they need assistance to feed themselves and their families.
• Provide first tier support and advice where needed, so that people can access available welfare entitlements and other support services.
• Create opportunities for both guests and volunteers to broaden their skills and experiences so that we as a community develop and grow.
