Help Train Tomorrow's Beekeeping Leaders One Donation. Double Your Impact. This September, Bees for Development is helping train the next generation of beekeeping leaders. Every year, students at Mzuzu University in Malawi and Makerere University in Uganda discover that beekeeping is about far more than producing honey. Through practical training, field visits and academic study, they gain the knowledge and skills to improve livelihoods, support biodiversity and strengthen their communities. For many students, beekeeping offers something especially valuable: practical skills that can be put into action straight away. University education combines the theory and science of beekeeping with hands-on experience, giving young people the confidence to become successful beekeepers, create income and share their knowledge with others. And the impact reaches far beyond the hive. As students learn more about bees, they also learn about the environments bees need to thrive. They discover the importance of trees, healthy ecosystems and sustainable farming practices and how threats such as habitat loss and harmful agrochemicals can affect bees and the wider environment. By investing in beekeeping education today, we are helping equip a new generation with the knowledge to build livelihoods, support their communities and become champions for bees and the natural world.
