Millions of people around the world do not have access to clean drinking water. This is especially the case in Sierra Leone. Children and women walk for miles on end each day, often in difficult and hazardous conditions just to bring clean water to their families. It is essential for human to grow healthy; they need access to clean water, good hygiene and proper sanitation. These are basic needs we in the developed world don’t even think about but they are amongst the most important considerations for our children, brothers and sisters in the developing world. Contaminated water can cause the spread of deadly illnesses, claiming lives and placing financial burdens on families already living in severe poverty, millions die each year. A number of friends and colleagues have united to pool their resources together in an effort to build water wells in communities that we have connections to through our friend Shaykh Mahdi. We intend to build wells in areas where there is desperate need; we have knowledge and where we have direct access to the benefiting communities. Please help me to build a lasting sadqa Jaaria for all of us, where we will get regular details of progress from identification, build through to handover to community. This is zakat and sadqa Jaaria compliant. Together, we will make a lasting difference!
