The Story
The William Reid School in Kapiri Mposhi District, Zambia was built in 2020/21 by Baraka Community Partnership together with the local community. It was entirely funded by donations from the family and friends of the late Dr William Reid, Brenda’s beloved grandson. William died age 25 in a skiing accident.
The school now has 3 classrooms, sports pitches, an admin office and a headmaster’s house. There is a growing school roll which is currently at some 600 pupils.
Brenda was a strong supporter of the school and closely followed its development.
Baraka Community Partnerships
Baraka Community Partnerships is a small, young charity based in the UK and Canada with projects in Zambia and Laos.
Our projects are aimed at alleviating poverty, providing educational opportunities and healthcare support.
We like to involve our supporters in our projects and organise regular volunteer trips to both countries.
