Young Persons' Befriending and Mentoring Services

G2 6LU Glasgow
30 Apr 2019 - 30 Apr 2024
We provide support to isolated and vulnerable young people in Glasgow in two amazing ways: through the Young Person's Befriending Service (YPBS) and through intandem mentoring. Volunteer Glasgow’s Young Persons Befriending Service provides support to isolated and vulnerable 8–18 year olds living in NorthEast Glasgow, SouthWest Glasgow and Drumchapel, Whiteinch, Scotstoun and Yoker. The service matches young people who are experiencing challenges with adult volunteers who are recruited, trained and supported to give them a supportive relationship and access to vital resources. intandem is Scotland’s mentoring programme for young people. It brings together vulnerable young people with a mentor to build a consistent and trusting relationship, and improve their chances in life. Volunteer Glasgow matches mentors to young people aged 8-14 in the city's South and Northwest.
