We are excited to announce the start of the new school year in Los Puentes, western Honduras, with 23 young people registering for classes. The project has more than doubled from 10 students last year and now covers two additional communities, San José and Los Laureles. In the photos, you can see some of the students with books and other school materials provided by the project. We are also funding teacher-training and a small thank you to the volunteer teachers who provide their services for free at weekends. Arturo is one of the teachers and a trustee of the newly-formed Lenca Foundation for Community Development that is coordinating the work on the ground. For Arturo and the other teachers, it is important to involve the parents and keep them informed of their work. In one of the photos, you can see some of the parents, standing alongside their children. We wish them all every success.
